Champaign, IL, Jan. 25, 2021—The Academy High School Caring Crew and the AH Parents Association recently presented the Eastern Illinois Food Bank a check for almost $1400 after holding a fundraiser for the organization.

At a virtual party in December 2020 for the school community, Academy High students enjoyed a holiday gathering from the comfort of their own homes. The party included games and an open microphone show.

A silent auction of donated items and a Giving Tree helped bring in $1385 for the Eastern Illinois Food Bank where a $1-donation provides for five meals. The funds raised by the Caring Crew and the Parents Association will help provide more than 6000 meals to families in our community.

The party was a collaborative effort between the Parents Association and the Caring Crew. Students, faculty, and parents also participated in a talent show with musical performances and dramatic readings.

The Caring Crew is a student-led club focused on community service. Previous community service projects include making cards for residents of senior citizen communities.
