Owl soccer has its first victories under its belt.

Academy High values healthy competition of all forms, whether through athletics, Odyssey of the Mind, or Rube Goldberg competitions.  Competition emphasizes goal setting, work ethic, teamwork, and mastery of novel skills. Students also develop an appreciation of unattainable perfection through competition.

As a young school, Academy High will initially focus on individual sports, such as swimming, cross country, tennis, and golf, based upon the interest of its student body.  In addition, Academy High currently competes in recreational athletic endeavors, such as indoor soccer, and will compete in coed volleyball in the spring of 2018.

Congratulations to the Academy High Science Olympiad team for several top five wins in their inaugural year. The team competed against teams nearly twice their size that were comprised of as many as seven seniors. Go Owls!

Athletics serves as just one component of Academy High’s greater vision of how competition is defined.  We are proud to be the first high school in East-Central Illinois to compete in Odyssey of the Mind.  Academy High will also compete in additional co-curricular competitions throughout the state.
